Built-space energy concepts and Vaastu
Traditional ideas about the energy of homes and workplaces, and what research on the built environment actually measures.
What the evidence is
Vaastu and home or business aura readings are traditional and practitioner concepts; we know of no controlled studies that test them. "Geopathic stress" comes from dowsing traditions; the few blinded experiments on dowsed zones are small, use unvalidated measures or found no effect on performance (Augner et al., 2010; Hacker et al., 2005). Separate, established research looks at measurable features of buildings — light, air quality, noise and layout — and at building-related symptoms, which reviews link to indoor air, particles, chemicals and the work environment (Norbäck, 2009). We keep these kinds of statement apart.
